Halifax Police Investigating Stabbing at Halifax West.

The 17 year old male suspect was arrested at the school by the initial responding officers. The suspect is being charged with attempt murder and will appear in Halifax Youth Court. The 17 year old victim was treated and released from the hospital. Both are students at Halifax West High School.

Halifax Regional Police are currently investigating a stabbing that took place this morning at Halifax West High School.




At 10:18 a.m., police were called to a disturbance at the school.

Additional information was received that one person had been stabbed in one of the classrooms. Upon arrival officers located a student being tended to by staff. He was taken to hospital with injuries that are believed to be non life-threatening. A suspect, who is also a student, was arrested and the weapon used in the assault was recovered.



At this time the investigation is in its early stages, however, charges are expected.

It sounds bad.. no one is allowed in or out of the school. And people are apparently hiding in their classrooms as of 12:35pm :S

It's a very scary thing. I can tell you this is when you see the school and community pull together. There will be something good to come from this.

Nobody was hiding in classrooms, and JV is going to be just fine! :)paramedics came and he was upright and smiling the whole time, just like always. love you justin, get better soon! :)<3
