I've been having a series of mini strokes ever since Friday October 28th at approx 6pm.
This is when I found out that this Sexy Beast
IS PLAYING THE METRO CENTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!on November 30.
I can't remember the "day" I discovered Prince and his music, I just remember ALWAYS listening to it.
If I don't end up with a ticket I will be standing outside of the Metro Center in the cold, completely content with the knowledge that the Artist I have listened to and loved for years, is just on the other side of the doors. Imagine for a second that one artist or actor that you love, a HUGE artist or actor, and imagine if you after YEARS of being a HUGE fan were able to finally see him/her in the flesh....for me my concert of a lifetime (meaning I could die happy the next day) is Prince. I encourage you to look into his music (his first album came out in '79) and listen to as much of it as you can. Of course everyone knows Purple Rain (EPIC) Little Red Corvette, Kiss, but this is just the tip of the genius ice berg that Prince. He has had SO MUCH influence over Popular Culture it's astounding. His Guitar playing is Incredible, his song writing?? DUDE I can't even begin, because if I do this blog entry will take a LIFETIME to write. He has a Vault FULL of music he has recorded but never released at Paisley Park.
Seriously, If I end up sitting next to you at the show, I apologize for sobbing like a little girl.

Mary Ellen MacDonald The Antigonish Fire Starter
"My Experiences at the MacDonald Homestead"
by H. B. Whidden
FOREWORD
The following account of my experiences at Caledonia Mills is not just a repetition of what has already appeared in the press. It was judged right to confine the news-paper statement to such things as the expert investigator could attest, and not to mix with these what was in part mere inference by myself. What I have here written down is a true and faithful account of the case as I know it, and as its solution was ap-
parently revealed to me. Others may look at it differently, but I offer this for what it may be worth. I give my own explanation, knowing that it will sound monstrous and incredible to some, just because I cannot account for the facts otherwise. Can anyone else do so? H.B. Whidden.

Haunted Halifax!!
Maritime Museum of the Atlantic - Water Street, Halifax
Museum employees have reported lights switching themselves on and off, and objects being moved by unseen hands. Paranormal activity seems to be focused around two exhibits in particular: the light from the historic Sambro Lighthouse, and the marble statue of Captain James Farquar.
Old Halifax Courthouse - Spring Garden Road, Halifax
Stored in a dark room on the upper story of the building are pieces of the old Halifax gallows, on which many of the city's more infamous criminals met their end. Many years ago, a building janitor ran terrified and shaking from the room, swearing he had seen a ghost, and vowing never to return to the room again – a promise he reportedly kept.
Bedford Basin - Halifax Harbour
Over the years, people standing along the shore of the Basin on foggy evenings have reported hearing the sound of a small boat being rowed toward the shore. The sound dies away, and no boat is ever seen. The story goes that some time in the last century, a dory full of fishermen overturned in the fog, and drowned. Their restless spirits are said to spend eternity seeking a shoreline they will never find.
St. Paul's Anglican Church - Argyle Street, Halifax
Canada’s oldest Protestant church is probably Halifax’s best-known haunted building. The image of one of its parishioners, killed in the tragic 1917 Halifax explosion, is said to appear in one of the upper storey windows.
The Fortress of Louisbourg - Cape Breton
Louisbourg's turbulent history has left a ghostly impression. The spectre of a man dressed in the uniform of an eighteenth century French officer has been seen repeatedly on the grounds of the fortress, as well as in the chapel.
Northumberland Strait
One of Atlantic Canada's more famous hauntings is the burning ghost ship that sails the Northumberland Strait between Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. She is described as an old sailing ship of three or four masts (reports vary), which is invariably seen ablaze from bow to stern.
Oak Island - Mahone Bay, NS
Legend has it that a huge treasure lies buried on the island in a deep and intricately booby-trapped mineshaft called the "Money Pit". Visitors to the island have reported encounters with apparitions dressed as eighteenth century soldiers and ghost lights have been seen from the mainland on several occasions. Read more about this AMAZING mystery and the attempts to discover what is in the "Money Pit" even the rumours about what's in it. Evenrything from Blackbeards treaure, to the Holy Grail, even the secrets of the Knights of Templar!
Do you know any good Halifax is Haunted stories?? Ever experience anything while is any of these locations?

HRM Impaired Driving Statistics for September
In September, citizens and HRM Partners in Policing joined forces to continue the fight against drinking and driving.
Throughout September, police charged 66 people - 56 men and 10 women, ranging in age from 19 to 60 - with impaired driving. Of these incidents, 37 were identified by police during their patrols, eight were identified after a collision had occurred and 21 were called-in by concerned citizens. In the cases where a breath sample was obtained, the blood alcohol readings ranged from 90 to 300 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood (mg%). Officers also issued an additional 26 seven-day suspensions, and two 15-day suspensions to people having a blood alcohol level between 50-80 mg%.
One of the incidents was the fatal collision on September 30 where a vehicle travelling on Barrington Street crossed the centre line, striking a cab head-on and killing its passenger.
The driver of the other vehicle faces 19 charges, eight of which are driving related including four charges involving impairment. This is a sad reminder that when a person drinks and drives, they put other people’s lives at risk, not just their own.
Driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs puts everyone in danger. In December 2009, MADD Canada and the Province of Nova Scotia launched Campaign 911 which encourages people to call police with information on suspected impaired drivers. HRM Partners in Policing continue to be encouraged by the number of citizens helping to play a role in community safety. If you have information on a drunk driver, please call 911.

Wanna go to Circus School??
Canadian Pre-Selection Tour
The National Circus School seeks talented young people in
Halifax and Moncton!
The National Circus School embarks on a pre-selection tour of some 20 cities, a cross-Canada quest for talented young people between the ages of 9 and 17. There will be stops in close to 20 cities from October 28 to November 12, 2011. The school will make stops in Halifax on Friday October 28th and in Moncton on Sunday October 30th.
During the tour the School's teaching staff will hold workshops, with exercises designed to assess the aspiring circus artists' calibre and potential to integrate into the School's programs. In particular, they will be tested for spatial orientation, coordination, flexibility, strength, stage presence (acting ability), movement and musicality (dance). In addition to this opportunity to be evaluated by circus arts professionals, young aspirants will attend a briefing on the School's training programs and learn more about the career of a circus performer.
This pre-selection tour also makes the entrance procedures more accessible to all young Canadians who wish to follow their dream of being a circus artist. To participate in the pre-selection, applicants must select the city closest to their home town and register at nationalcircusschool.ca. The tour takes place from October 28 to November 12. There will be stops in Halifax, Moncton, Saguenay, Québec, Disraeli, Trois-Rivières, Magog, Rouyn-Noranda, Gatineau, Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Victoria and Montreal.
This is a great opportunity for young people to have their potential evaluated and to meet the School's teachers, while also learning more about the programs and the life of a circus artist!
The pre-selection tour is in addition to the School's principal screening, the official Entrance Examination, to be held in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal in February 2012.
For 30 years, Canada’s National Circus School has prepared circus artists for their professional careers. It has played a crucial role in the development of circus arts in Canada and around the world. Having trained nearly 400 circus artists, among which many have garnered distinctions at prestigious world festivals, the institution has become a world reference in its sector. A leader of the circus renaissance in Canada and North America, the Montreal based school has also contributed to the emergence of several prominent circus companies such as Cirque du Soleil, Cirque Eloize and The 7 Fingers.

What? The NYPD are really saying this to women?
"Summary of story from the Huffington Post, September 30, 2011
Attention ladies of South Park Slope, Brooklyn: The New York Police Department (NYPD) would like you to put some pants on.
Okay, so that’s not exactly what they’re saying, but some officers’ recent message to women in the neighborhood is pretty close.
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports that, following ten unsolved sexual assaults in the area since March, officers in the area have started stopping women on the street to chat about their wardrobe choices.
A woman, only identified as Lauren, told the Journal that an officer “pointed at my outfit and said, ‘Don’t you think your shorts are a little short?’”
And there is WAAAAAAY more to the story, you can read it here

If it's good enough for the NHL, it's good enough for the QMJHL
The NHL's use of video to explain player suspensions has spread to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
League commissioner Gilles Courteau said videos will be posted on its website of all suspensions of three or more games. They will include video of the incident along with explanations in English and French of the decision.
Suspensions of fewer than three games and all fines will be published on the website.
The NHL began using video to explain suspensions during the pre-season. New director of player safety Brendan Shanahan appears on the videos to show the infraction and explain why it merited supplementary discipline.
The NHL hopes the videos will help educate players and the public on what constitutes an illegal hit. It is especially aimed at a new rules barring many types of hits to the head.
The QMJHL opted to do the same for its most severe suspensions.
''We want to be more transparent and explain the reasons behind the disciplinary decisions,'' Courteau said in a statement. ''With video becoming increasingly prominent, we must take the necessary steps to make sure that our process is better understood.''
League disciplinarian Raymond Bolduc said the videos ''will also be good educational tools for those who want to have a better idea of the disciplinary process.''
The system will be put in place immediately.
The move follows one of the toughest suspensions of the early season.
Last week, the league banned Rimouski Oceanic defenceman Etienne Boutet for five games for a hit to the head ofMoncton forward Thomas Flynn. The incident occurred away from the play and was not called on the ice, but was reviewed by the league.

AMAZING!! Your Experiment in SPACE!
Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte and astronaut Chris Hadfield are among the Canadian judges for YouTube Space Lab, a Google-run contest that's encouraging young students to dream up experiments to be performed in space.
Students in two age groups, 14 to 16 and 17 to 18, will compete for a number of prizes, including a chance to undergo real astronaut training in Star City, Russia, where Russian cosmonauts are schooled.
And the two winning experiments will be conducted about 400 kilometres above Earth aboard the International Space Station and streamed live on YouTube.
Students, either alone or in groups of up to three, are being tasked with creating a two-minute video that explains their hypothesis and experiment.
A number of regional finalists will be flown to Washington, D.C. in March 2012 and will get to experience a ZERO-G flight simulating a weightless environment.
The winners in each age group also get to choose either astronaut training or a trip to Tanegashima Island, Japan to watch their experiment leave Earth on a rocket bound for the ISS.
Laliberte became the first Canadian space tourist in 2009, paying US$35 million for the experience. Hadfield, who was the first Canadian astronaut to perform a spacewalk, is scheduled to travel to the ISS next year in a capsule atop a Soyuz rocket.
Other judges include British scientist Stephen Hawking.
Applications are being accepted through Dec. 7. More information is available at http://bit.ly/qMLL03
Woman sues because "Drive" didn't have enough Driving?! o_O
If you've ever felt duped because of a Movie Trailer, you might want to write a bad review for it instead. Just sayin'.......
via motorauthority.com
If the new Ryan Gosling movie Drive wasn't Fast and Furious enough for you, you're not alone--and you may be able to join in a class action lawsuit about it. At least that's the hope of Sarah Deming, who filed suit over the film in Michigan.
Deming's suit alleges the trailer was misleading, containing very little driving or chase action, and seeking to collect some sort of damages, reports WDIV TV. Deming also alleges the film promotes violence against Jewish people.
The suit against the movie's distributor, FilmDistrict, and the Emagine theater where she saw it was filed on September 28th in the Sixth District of Michigan by attorney Martin H. Leaf. Deming hasn't commented on her lawsuit as yet, but seeks a refund on the price of her movie ticket and a halt to the production of "misleading movie trailers" for future films.
While we're no fans of promoting religious violence (or of bad movies and their trailers), perhaps it's time to take a step back and remember: this is just a movie, folks. If you don't like it, give it a negative review on your favorite site and move on.

Man gets 2 DUI's in ONE NIGHT!!
An East Division Patrol Officer stopped a vehicle twice within four
hours last night resulting in the driver being charged both times with
impaired driving.
At 8:40 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle being operated in a manner
that raised the concern that the driver might have been impaired. The
vehicle was pulled over in the 100 block of Isley Avenue and the
43-year-old male driver was arrested. He was taken to the East Division
Office on Mellor Avenue where he failed a breath test and was released
with a court date. The officer called a taxi to take the man home.
At 11:56 p.m., the same officer observed the same vehicle that he
stopped earlier in the evening, pulling out of a parking lot in the 100
block of Isley Avenue. The officer pulled the vehicle over and
discovered the driver was the same man who was charged a few hours
earlier. The driver was arrested and returned to the East Division

via nme.com
****warning, there is talk of Sexual acts in the following story****
A sex tape featuring legendary rapper Tupac has apparently surfaced online.
According to US gossip website TMZ, the tape was shot in 1991 and is in the possession of someone who is planning to release it online.
According to the report, the tape features Tupac walking into a room with his pants down to his ankles and pulling an unnamed women toward him, who then begins performing oral sex. While this happens, an unreleased Tupac tracks plays in the background, with the rapper singing along and dancing.
The rapper, who is apparently shown holding a cocktail in one hand and a joint in the other, is then embraced by rapper Money B from Digital Underground and puts his arm around him, while the woman continues to perform oral sex.
