26 successful people who failed at first

I was creepin' around the interwebs this morning, when I found this on MSN.ca, it's a list of 26 Successful people who failed at first. Some of them, I wouldn't say they FAILED at first, so much as they had people tell them they weren't Good Enough (Sidney Poitier) Weren't Funny Enough (Jerry Seinfeld) Weren't good on camera (Oprah) Can't act. Can't Sing. Slightly Bald. Can Dance A Little (Fred Astaire) Marilyn Monroe was told she wasn't Talented or pretty enough to be an actress.

So, if people can be wrong about them, why listen to YOUR critiques. They could be wrong too. I've grabbed the article you can read the whole thing there. People were also wrong about Walt Disney, Einstein, and Edison.

Inspiration is a Click of your mouse away.

Buzzfeed.com's top 10 Sexy Jams...I think we can do better!!!

There's a new list of The Sexiest Songs Ever Recorded on Buzzfeed.com . . . and the #1 spot went to BILLY PAUL'S 1972 single"Me and Mrs. Jones".

--Here's the Top 10:

1.) "Me and Mrs. Jones", Billy Paul (1972)

2.) "Into the Mystic", Van Morrison (1970)

3.) "Pony", Ginuwine (1996)

4.) "Whole Lotta Love", Led Zeppelin (1969)

5.) "Love Hangover", Diana Ross (1976)

6.) "Between the Sheets", The Isley Brothers (1983)

7.) "Between the Sheets", Meiko (2011) . . . This is NOT a cover of the Isley Brothers song. Its placement is apparently just a coincidence.

8.) "Let's Spend the Night Together", The Rolling Stones (1967)

9.) "Wicked Game", Chris Isaak (1989)

10.) "Let's Get It On", Marvin Gaye (1973)

Hmmmmmm seems to me a few songs are missing, and should bounce a couple of tracks off that list!

Starting with Untitled (How Does It Feel) by D'Angelo, This is a double whammy (Pardon the pun) because the video is HAWTTTT....I mean SERIOUSLY!

Remember When Vin Diesel was Triple XXX and he had to "Do Things for his country"? Cue the music....

Joi - Lick

There is absolutely a chance that I could do an ENTIRE sexy play list by Prince, but for now....Here is one of the MANY I'd pick

Prince - Do Me Baby

HAHAHA Remember this Jam?

Freak Me - Silk

Call me with your thoughts and suggestions on the SEXIEST Jams !!

Can a person's first name REALLY tell you if they're a lunatic behind the wheel?

--A study out of England looked at data from thousands of speeding tickets, and identified the first names of people most likely to speed . . . or drive safely.

--Men named Julian and Justin are most likely to speed. And for women, the most likely speeders are named Juliet, Justine, and Alexis.

--On the other end, men named Connor, Terrance, Jacob, Jordan, and Joshua are LEAST likely to speed. For women, the least-likely speeders are Paige, Molly, Shannon, Bethany, Lily, Courtney, and Caitlin.

--The study also found that men who are surgeons, sales managers, TV execs, CEOs, and lawyers are most likely to speed. Women who are in the military, or work as business consultants, veterinarians, or doctors are most likely to speed.

Life in a nutshell.

Pfizer sponsored a survey that found the average age for different milestones in people's lives.  Here's what they found out:

--You have your FIRST KISS at age 15.

--You're financially independent from your parents at 22. (--Yeah, right.)

--You have the BEST SUMMER OF YOUR LIFE when you're 24.

--You start reminding yourself of your parents at age 32.

--You begin FEELING YOUR AGE at 38.

--The age when you should stop having kids is 41.

--You should RETIRE at age 64. -- (Not according to the Harper Government)

--And you should expect to LIVE until you're 84.

Usher - Scream Official Video

I dig the song, I always jam when we play it, but, I'm not at all impressed with this video. Something is missing here. Maybe he spent his video budget on the video for Climax?

What do you think?

PS: If you didn't see the video for Climax, here it is,

Oh Canada!!

Canada’s birthday is just around the corner and there will be plenty of activities taking place in HRM to mark the 145th milestone.
Musicians from across the country will perform for audiences at this year’s Canada Day events. Vancouver’s 2012 Juno nominee “Mother Mother” will headline the Alderney Landing concert joined by PEI’s “Tim Chaisson & Morning Fold”, Ontario’s “USS”, and Halifax’s new favourite band, “The Town Heroes”.  Other acts include “Scientists of Sound”, “Kayo”, “Soho Ghetto” and “Dezza”.

Take part in pancake breakfasts at the Grand Parade and Alderney Landing, sing Oh Canada from the top of Citadel Hill, watch the Tattoo Parade in downtown Halifax and join us for the Great Canadian Family Fun-Fest on the Halifax Common with fireworks to end the evening on the Halifax Waterfront.
Dartmouth Crossing is hosting a weekend-long party, adding a pre-Canada Day kickoff event on June 29. That event will feature free food, music and fireworks for families and friends that may have to miss the July 1 show at 10 p.m. Find out more about celebrations at Dartmouth Crossing at www.dartmouthcrossing.com.
Events are being hosted at no charge to participants, made possible by our generous sponsors: The Village Shops at Dartmouth Crossing, Canadian Heritage, Molson Coors Canada, Nissan, May Family Farms, Pampers, Pepsi, Holiday Inn Harbourview, CTV, C100/The Bounce, The Chronicle Herald and Halifax Regional Municipality.

HRM Drunk Driving stats for May

In May, citizens and HRM Partners in Policing joined forces to continue the fight against drinking and driving.

Throughout the month, police charged 63 people - 45 men and 18 women, ranging in age from 15 to 61 - with impaired driving. Of these incidents, 34 were identified by police during their patrols, 10 were identified after a collision had occurred and 19 were called-in by concerned citizens. Officers issued an additional 16 seven-day suspensions and two 15-day suspensions to people having a blood alcohol level between 50-80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood (mg%).

Of the 63 cases, 60 involved drivers impaired by alcohol while three involved impairment by drugs. Nine of the people charged refused to provide a breath sample and were charged with the offense of refusal.
The breath samples obtained ranged from 90-310 mg%.

Driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs puts everyone in danger. In December 2009, MADD Canada and the Province of Nova Scotia launched Campaign 911 which encourages people to call police with information on suspected impaired drivers. HRM Partners in Policing continue to be encouraged by the number of citizens helping to play a role in community safety. If you have information on a drunk driver, please call 911.
