Canada’s birthday is just around the corner and there will be plenty of
activities taking place in HRM to mark the 145th milestone.
Musicians from across the
country will perform for audiences at this year’s Canada Day events. Vancouver’s
2012 Juno nominee “Mother Mother” will headline the Alderney Landing concert
joined by PEI’s “Tim Chaisson & Morning Fold”, Ontario’s “USS”, and
Halifax’s new favourite band, “The Town Heroes”. Other acts include “Scientists
of Sound”, “Kayo”, “Soho Ghetto” and “Dezza”.
Take part in pancake breakfasts at the Grand Parade and Alderney Landing, sing Oh Canada from the top of Citadel Hill, watch the Tattoo Parade in downtown Halifax and join us for the Great Canadian Family Fun-Fest on the Halifax Common with fireworks to end the evening on the Halifax Waterfront.
Dartmouth Crossing is hosting a weekend-long party, adding a
pre-Canada Day kickoff event on June 29. That event will feature free food,
music and fireworks for families and friends that may have to miss the July 1
show at 10 p.m. Find out more about celebrations at Dartmouth Crossing at
www.dartmouthcrossing.com.
Events are being hosted at no charge to participants, made possible
by our generous sponsors: The Village Shops at Dartmouth Crossing, Canadian
Heritage, Molson Coors Canada, Nissan, May Family Farms, Pampers, Pepsi, Holiday
Inn Harbourview, CTV, C100/The Bounce, The Chronicle Herald and Halifax Regional
Municipality.
